My design for this estate focuses on the concept of "functional vernacular." By utilizing a traditional low-slung terracotta roofline and local fieldstone, I allowed the structure to sit naturally within the topography of the coastline. The form follows the ridge, creating a protected microclimate for the outdoor living spaces.

Sustainability & Biophilia The hallmark of this project is the integration of a productive landscape. I designed terraced, raised garden beds adjacent to the outdoor kitchen to promote a "farm-to-table" lifestyle. The natural stone swimming pool functions with a bio-filtration mindset, while the massive stone walls provide essential thermal mass, keeping the interiors cool during peak Mediterranean heat.

The Impact I wanted the inhabitant to feel a sense of stewardship over the land. The transition from the cultivated vegetable gardens to the wild, craggy coastline creates a sensory journey that celebrates self-sufficiency and the raw beauty of the environment.
